3 Power Breakfasts You Have To Try Next Week

Mornings are tough, but breakfast shouldn’t be. Try these 3 easy power breakfasts the next time you hit snooze one too many times and need to grab a bite before dashing out the door!

They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But for N and I, it’s the easiest meal to skip. I would so much rather get an extra thirty minutes of shut eye than get up and make a filling breakfast… For me, skipping breakfast means grumpy mornings, and devouring my entire lunch at about 9:50 am and hitting the afternoon slump before noon. UGH. Lucky for me, I found these 3 quick and convenient power breakfasts to fill me up and keep me powered all morning. The best part is that you can make or prep them ahead of time so you won’t need to waste any precious snoozing time!

Figgy Pops

These cute little bliss balls are the ultimate grab and go power breakfast. I have a stash of them at work in my desk drawer for those days I have to run out of the house while my hair is still wet… They are made from whole, unprocessed dried fruits, nuts, and gluten free oats and are organic, non-gmo, gluten free, and vegan. Figgy pops come in five flavors and in full size bags and single serve packets. You can find them at your local Sprouts Farmers Market. For when I’m really in a rush, the single serving packets are they way to go. Plus it keeps me from devouring the whole bag in one sitting. Which I am totally liable to do. 😛

Oh and better yet – there’s a $.50 coupon for these available on the Sprouts mobile app… available only for the month of April!

DIY Trail Mix Breakfast Bars

Trail Mix Breakfast Bars are one of the easiest things for a power breakfast you can make. You don’t have to worry about heating, refrigerating, or even washing a bowl after eating them! To DIY the trail mix breakfast bars, gather your favorite combo of seeds, nuts, granola, dried fruit, and some honey (try agave nectar if you’re vegan). Mix the ingredients thoroughly, and press into a parchment lined baking sheet. Chill, then cut into bars. Wrap each bar in parchment paper and you’re all set!

Here are some of my favorite combinations:

  • granola + peanuts + dark chocolate + dried cranberries
  • dried apricots (chopped) + almonds + orange zest + coconut + sea salt
  • dates + dark chocolate + oats

Tropical Power Greens Breakfast Bowl

This power breakfast is so convenient to prep ahead of time. I like to prepare the smoothie ingredients on Sunday nights and throw the ingredients in a blender in the morning while I’m getting ready. It’s an easy and filling breakfast to get you through the morning! You can find the recipe here.
