Community Involvement

Service is part of who we are.

Rosemary & Rye is built around taking care of people. That includes the guests at our events, but it also extends to the community where we live and work. Community service has always mattered to our team. ROOTS gives us a more intentional way to work alongside local organizations and support causes that are important to the people around us.

Our Community Service Program

ROOTS

Rosemary & Rye: Outreach & Opportunities to Serve

Rosemary & Rye: Outreach and Opportunities to Serve, or ROOTS, is our company-wide community service program.

We created ROOTS to give our team regular opportunities to get involved with organizations doing important work throughout Charleston. Through the program, we can be more intentional about supporting local organizations and build relationships that extend beyond a one-time donation.

How We Get Involved

Every organization needs something different.

The way we support an organization depends on what it actually needs and what our team can reasonably provide. Some of the ways we may be able to help include:

Volunteering with a local organization
Preparing or donating food
Organizing a supply or donation drive
Offering culinary or hospitality education
Helping with fundraising or awareness
Mentoring or working directly with program participants

This is not a fixed list. If your organization has another need or an idea for working together, we are always open to having that conversation.

How Projects Are Chosen

Finding the right opportunities for our team.

Our team members can nominate organizations or causes they care about throughout the year. We also welcome requests directly from nonprofits, schools, grassroots groups, and other organizations serving the community. Because we cannot take on every opportunity, we focus on projects connected to Charleston and the nearby communities where our team lives and works.

We consider how each request aligns with our values and whether there is a meaningful way for our team to participate. We prioritize organizations that are transparent, inclusive, and closely connected to the people they serve. An organization does not need to work within food or hospitality to be considered. ROOTS was created to support the many different needs within our community.

ROOTS in Action

A closer look at ROOTS.

ROOTS looks different from one project to the next. These videos share two recent opportunities that allowed our team to spend time with local organizations and take part in their work. Throughout the year, our team continues to support other projects and partnerships across the Charleston community.
