Happy New Year! 2018… what a year! N and I have had a lot of firsts this year, from becoming first time homeowners to adopting our sweet little Ruby pup! It’s been a wild ride and I can’t wait to see what 2019 has in store for us!
The New Year also marks R&R’s 2nd birthday and I have so much planned for 2019! From exciting new (and currently secret) projects to loads of new recipes, there’s a lot more in store for R&R in the new year!

Of course, like everyone else, I’ve got a few New Year’s resolutions in mind. For me, resolutions are a way to plan for the new year, but they’re not hard and fast goals – I like to keep them broad. This makes it less likely for me to fail in the first few weeks of the year and start the year off on a negative note!
Resolution #1: Read More.
We spend so much of our time on the computer, in front of our phone screens, on the iPad – we often forget the joy that comes from reading a true to form, physical book. Flipping the pages, curling up with a cup of tea, getting pulled into a story so much so, that you can’t put the book down.
2019 is the year! I have so many books on my reading list that it’s time to get to work!

Resolution #2: Stop and smell the roses.
In this go, go, go life – we often forget to step back and truly appreciate the lives we lead. In 2019, I want to take a page out of Harper and Ruby’s books – treat each day like it’s the best day ever. Take walks. Get excited about work. Eat your heart out. But take a moment to really appreciate all that we’ve been given.

Resolution #3: Slow it down.
I want to tackle 2019 with intention. Rather than jump and say yes to everything, I’m taking on projects by really assessing their impact on my life. I want to dig deep and work on things I’m passionate about, and if that means slowing down, just a little bit, then that’s what I’m going to do!

What about you? What’s in store for you in 2019? Do you make New Year’s resolutions? How do you make resolutions a positive experience for yourself?? Let me know in the comments below!
Cheers, 2018 – you were a great year. Here’s to an even better 2019! Onwards!
Salut, prost, skol, and cheers!
