“Ana, can I hire you?” That was the subject line of one of the most important emails I’ve ever received in my entire life. I checked the sender line – it was from one of the most amazing food photographers I had been following since I started this journey. “This has to be a joke”. It wasn’t.
That one amazing email opened up so many doors for me leading up to my most recent exciting opportunity…
When I first started this journey, I had no clue I would enjoy photography or blogging… I started the blog for fun, as a way to challenge myself to learn how to build a website and post recipes every now and again that I liked. It’s been almost two years-ish and I still can’t believe how much I’ve learned, how many AMAZING people I’ve had the fortune of meeting, and how many incredible opportunities the world of blogging and photography have presented to me!
I’ve learned HTML and CSS, Photoshop and Lightroom, using a crop sensor and a full sensor camera *in manual mode*, how to compose a photo and so much more! Because of R&R, I’ve learned how to make puff pastry, homemade pasta, choux buns, caramel and so many delicious treats along the way!
Soo… I have some exciting news to share…
Because of all of you amazing readers and the incredible people I’ve met throughout this journey – I GOT PUBLISHED! Yes, that’s right – a full feature in the Where Women Cook: “Our Table” Autumn edition. There are a full 8 pages of my recipes and photos in full glossy pages in an actual magazine. On newsstands. In stores. Right now. What?! I’m still pinching myself.
The issue is absolutely gorgeous! I’m so honored to be featured alongside legends like Brooke Lark, Rachel Korinek, Beata Lubas, Lindsay Cotter, and so many other talented chefs and photographers.
