Little Things…

The blog has been quieter than I’d like it to be lately. As 2019 draws to a close, I’ve been taking some time to reflect on this past year (and decade) and process what has really been the most incredible year yet.

Of course, the best part of 2019 has been finding out about Baby A! We’re so blessed to have her in our lives. 2020 is going to be such a life changing year!

To be honest, I’ve struggled with writing this post for a while. I haven’t provided many updates on Baby A because, to be frank, it scares me. I’m terrified of sharing updates only to have something go wrong. That writing a post may jinx it.

This is our first real taste of being parents. Constantly thinking about your little one’s well being and worrying about the future. I’m learning that it does one no good to dwell in our fears, we must also be open to the love and joy in the present.

This year, I was blessed to be showered with love, support, and advice from our dear friends and all of Baby A’s grandparents. We are so grateful to have you all in our lives and we can’t wait for you to meet Baby A.

This month, we finally started putting together Baby A’s nursery.

This year, I learned the things that are important to me. Relationships with family and friends. My first children, the dogs. My husband.

This year, I learned I cannot do it all. And that’s ok. It’s ok to say no, it’s ok to give yourself grace, it’s to take a break, it’s ok to spend the weekend curled up on the couch watching Star Wars with your husband. Take the time to savor it all.

This year, we saw Harper and Ruby grow into the amazing big sisters (and nanny dogs) they’re going to be. I’m going to need all your help, girls!

We’re at 31 weeks now and the final countdown has begun. And as terrifying as it is, I’m trying to focus on celebrating the little things.

Each little kick, jab, and flutter. Each moment snuggled on the couch with the ones I love.

I promise I’ll share more once Baby A safely arrives in this world. But for now, 2019, you’ve been great. Here’s to the next decade!
