Tasting Tips!

Tastings are a great time for our clients to sample a variety of items from our menu, and to discuss logistics of how the big day will run. It’s also a great time to discuss rental and display ideas, as well as to make tweaks to the menu after sampling, if needed.

While we wish we could have open availability for tastings, we ask that our clients understand the limitations on previously contracted event days. As a boutique catering company whose owners and management team are all involved with event operations, we do not book tastings on event days. Just as we would give your event the same respect and dedication on the day of, we will always give the priority to previously contracted clients.

We highly recommended coordinating a tasting date as soon as possible to ensure availability, as it is the responsibility of the client to coordinate a tasting date. However, we always remind our clients that many past and present do book our services without ever scheduling a tasting. Our hundreds of positive reviews are a great showcase of our service. In fact, about half of our clients book with us even prior to tasting due to the reviews of our clients and fellow vendors.

Tasting Tips:

  • Please know, we purchase food and prepare everything specifically for your tasting. If you do have to cancel for any reason, please kindly give 72 hours notice at least as a courtesy to our chefs and management team.
  • If you’re going to be more than 5 minutes late, it’s always recommended to call and let us know. Again, because food is prepared specifically for the timeframe of your tasting, we want to ensure everything is at the peak of freshness when it gets to your plate!
  • Know that you may not try *everything* from your menu. Tasting in the middle of the winter when your wedding is July? Keep in mind, certain types of produce may be unavailable the time of year of your tasting. We do our best to give you the best variety of samplings from your menu.
  • Be honest! We know that everyone’s palate is different, so flavor components as small as “not enough salt” or “too much pepper” could make all the difference between “good” and “great” for your wedding menu.
  • Come hungry! A tasting does not necessarily mean small bites. We like to ensure the portion and presentation is exactly what to expect on your big day, so make sure to keep meals light leading up to the tasting.
