My biggest learning from 2020 had to be: “treat yo self”. I often get so caught up in everything that needs to be done, I forget to take some time to slow down, relax, and take care of me! When I feel fulfilled, I know I can be the best parent, partner, and puppy snuggler that I can be!

A few things that I’ve found have been working for me to “treat myself” have been:
1// Creating a 15 minute bedtime routine.
I take extra time to do the usual like brush and floss, but then set aside some time to wash my face with warm water, steam, and do a skin care routine. Sometimes I even like to use a little lavender pillow spray to help me relax and get a good night’s sleep!
2// Setting aside 1 hour each weekend to do something I love.
Nick and I try to carve an hour each weekend where the other one watches the baby and we each can spend time doing something that makes us feel inspired. Sometimes that’s playing an instrument, painting, going for a walk, or doing a workout. It’s nice to have some time to yourself to remind you of what fuels your fire.
3// Elevating the ordinary.
The easiest way to feel like I’m doing something to treat myself has been to just take the usual up to the next level. To feel “fancy” on an ordinary Tuesday. Like opening a fancy bottle of wine with dinner and calling it a “date night”. Or adding a little zhoozh to my breakfast.

I love making this super easy yogurt bowl on days I need a little pick me up. I use Wallaby Organic® Whole Milk Yogurt for a rich, creamy base. It’s an Australian style yogurt and it’s slow crafted with organic milk for an ultra-creamy texture. I stock up on the plain whole milk tubs because they are super versatile to use in yogurt bowls, smoothies, oatmeal, or savory dishes too. However, if you prefer your yogurt sweetened or flavored, this recipe works well with the Wallaby Strawberry Yogurt as well!
In addition to tasting great, Wallaby Organic’s parent company, Danone North America is a Certified BCorporation®. This means they strive for sustainability and support of the community, employees, and the environment. Part of my “treating myself” mindset is to be intentional about the time, energy, and fuel I invest in myself. A big part of that is using products that are not only made with organic ingredients but also impact the community I am a part of so I love that Danone North America is participating in being a Certified BCorporation®!
I like to add some sliced strawberries, almonds, and granola to help keep me full in the mornings. To take the yogurt bowl to the next level, I top my bowl with edible rose petals for a luxurious feel. You can often find edible rose petals in the bulk spice section of specialty grocery stores like Sprouts and Whole Foods (they also carry Wallaby Organic Yogurt for one stop shopping!) or order them online (just make sure the ones you order are edible). I also add a sprinkle of bee pollen and a drizzle of honey for sweetness. Perfection!
